U.S. Representative Zach Nunn announced a federal investment of $2,011,000 for the construction of a new dialysis facility at Wayne County Hospital in Corydon. This funding was secured through the Community Project Funding process and is part of the Consolidated Appropriations Act of 2024.

Rep. Nunn stated, “I’m incredibly excited to announce that we secured a more than $2 million federal investment to construct a new dialysis center at the Wayne County Hospital. This investment will help the Wayne County Hospital provide critically needed, state-of-the-art dialysis services to their six-county service area. This is exactly the kind of investment the federal government should make – one that does the most good for the most people.”

Wayne County Hospital CEO Daren Relph expressed gratitude for Rep. Nunn’s efforts: “We are incredibly grateful for Congressman Nunn’s support in helping us secure this project for a new dialysis unit. This funding represents a significant step towards improving healthcare access in our region, ensuring that patients can receive the critical care they need close to home. We greatly appreciate his dedication in making this a possibility for our community.”

Currently, Wayne County Hospital is unable to meet all patient needs as it serves as the only dialysis care provider within a six-county region. The new facility aims to address these demands by offering expanded dialysis services.
