Wapello County did not fund their women’s collegiate basketball teams in 2023, unchanged from the previous year, according to the U.S. Department of Education.

In contrast, men’s basketball teams in Wapello County received a total of $659,806 in funding.

Since 2010, the average sports expenses in Wapello County have grown 223.4%.

Basketball is one of the most popular sports played at U.S. colleges, as well as football. NCAA basketball teams are often as popular as NBA teams, and offer a different experience for fans.
