Clarke County Hospital (CCH) was recently given two pieces of equipment to help with its COVID-19 response.
The first is Tru-D SmartUCV, an automated machine that uses UVC energy to disinfect rooms. CCH will use the portable unit to clean direct patient care spaces such as exam rooms.
“Tru-D operates from one placement within the room, ensuring significant pathogen reduction in direct and shadowed areas and eliminating the threat of human error in the disinfection process,” states an article from the Osceola Sentinel-Tribune. “Tru-D’s combined automated, measured dosing capabilities and real-time usage-tracking features make it the most precise and advanced automated UVC disinfection systems available.”
CCH also received an Abbott ID-NOW COVID-19 testing unit, which can produce results within five to 13 minutes. As part of the conditions of accepting the unit, the hospital’s lab has agreed to test samples from assisted living, long-term care, nursing home and residential facilities located within 30 miles of the hospital.
