City of Ottumwa issued the following announcement on May 29.
Following Governor Reynolds Proclamation on May 20, 2020, the Beach Ottumwa will be re-opening for indoor lap swim only on Monday June 1, 2020. The hours are:
5:30 A.M. – Noon Monday - Friday
8:00 A.M. – Noon Saturday
1:00 P.M. – 4:00 P.M. Sunday
Group swim lessons will begin at the Beach on Monday, June 15, 2020. Please call 641-682-8208.
The outdoor water park will remain closed until further notice. A news release will be issued at the announcement of any further openings. The TestIowa screening site that is currently located in the parking lot at the Beach will be moving to the Evans Middle School parking lot effective Monday June 1st. The site area will be thoroughly cleaned before the Beach re-opens to the public on Monday June 1st. Any questions/concerns you may contact Parks Director Gene Rathje at 641-682-7873.
