As part of an effort to connect with all of Iowa’s 99 counties, Lt. Gov. Adam Gregg recently took some time in Bloomfield to meet with local leaders and discuss improvements to internet connectivity and other future growth opportunities in Davis County.
In a rare position among rural communities, through an initiative lead by Citizen’s Mutual Telephone Cooperative, the county looks to be 100% fiber, according to coverage by KTVO.
Gregg highlighted the importance of that kind of infrastructure to a rural community.
"It's being able to work for any company in the world, for a business to be able to sell their products anywhere in the world, for manufacturers to be able to use their big data capabilities, all of those things require connectivity,” Gregg told KTVO. “So, that's why Gov. Reynolds and I have been champions for more broadband connectivity from day one, and we plan to continue to as well."
