Republican Cherielynn Westrich defeated incumbent Mary Gaskill who was seeking re-election to House District 81.
Here is her statement which was released on her Facebook page.
“To everyone who supported my campaign, to the volunteers, to my team who worked so hard, and to the voters of Wapello county Thank You!
This is the honor of my life and I’m so excited to get started doing great things for Wapello county! Time to get to work #greatful #excited,” she said.
Westrich assumes office in January 2021.
