Census Bureau: More women than men in Wapello County in 2019

Of the 35,141 people living in Wapello County in 2019, 50.5 percent (17,740) were women and 49.5 percent (17,401) were men, according to U.S. Census Bureau data obtained by the South Iowa News.

Males 18 and over outnumbered females in the same age group by a ratio of 10,616-to-10,438. In the 65 and over age range, there were 3,364 females and 2,736 males.
