Decatur County Hospital Makes Donation to Decatur County Schools

Donations

Decatur County Hospital issued the following announcement.

Decatur County Hospital recently partnered with Decatur County Public Health and the Lamoni Food Pantry to support access to school supplies for students in the Central Decatur and Lamoni school districts. DCH donated notebooks, folders, markers, and pencil pouches to Decatur County Public Health to be distributed through the Decatur County Back to School event being held on August 10th. These supplies will be added to free backpacks which will be handed out at the event to families who attend.

To support a similar effort in the Lamoni school district, DCH made a direct donation of $600 to support school supply purchases for at-risk students who sign up for the program through the food pantry. These funds will directly support the purchase of necessary supplies for students entering school this fall. The food pantry has a goal of reaching $2,000 for this effort.

In addition to these donations, DCH staff members have also participated in a school supply drive to supplement supplies provided to Decatur County Public Health. These additional supplies will help support students who need additional supplies to have a successful school year.

From all the staff and providers at Decatur County Hospital, we wish all students and their families a healthy school year!
