In a new report from CBS, Iowa State ranked as one of the most overrated teams in the 2021 college football season.
Alongside the Texas Longhorns, Clemson University, Notre Dame and Michigan, Iowa State was ranked first out of the five most overrated football teams this season according to the sports analysts at CBS.
"Anyone else think Iowa State and Cincinnati are incredibly overrated this year? People keep talking about how great these teams are, and I just don’t see it," one tweet from Bateman Bets said.
The decision behind ranking Iowa State as one of most overrated is somewhat murky for many college football fanatics. While the Texas Longhorns are bringing in a new head coach and starting quarterback, Iowa State is fresh off a successful 2020 season according to Sooners Wire.
Iowa State has turned its underdogs into Big 12 contenders over the last few years through the work of coach Matt Campbell. The question now stands to see if the team can beat last season's 9-3 record, according to CBS.
With the 2021 season around the corner, Iowa State still has the potential to prove CBS Sports wrong with a reliable team, strong head coach and the possibility of a Big 12 win this season.
