Iowa's field hockey head coach Lisa Cellucci was recently unanimously named Coach of the Year at the 2021 Big Ten Conference for the third season in a row, according to The Daily Iowan.

"History Made... Head coach Lisa Cellucci is the first coach in B1G history to earn three straight Coach of the Year honors!  #Hawkeyes," Iowa Field Hockey wrote in a Nov. 3 Twitter post.

For the 2021 season, Cellucci guided the Hawkeyes to a 16-1 record, winning 16 games in a row before suffering a 2-1 loss to Northwestern in the Big Ten regular season finale.

Despite the loss, the Hawkeyes are still the best ranked team in the nation according to the National Field Hockey Coaches Association Poll, a rank they've held for six consecutive weeks, according to Hawk Fanatic. The Hawkeyes will take the top seed spot in this year’s Big Ten Field Hockey Tournament.

At the conference, Iowa field hockey defender Anthe Nijziel took two top honors and as named the Big Ten Co-Player of the Year and the Big Ten Defensive Player of the Year, an award she has won two years in a row.

A total of six Iowa field hockey athletes received honors and awards for the 2021-22 field hockey all-conference and individual awards.
