Southwestern Phi Theta Kappa students volunteer at local food pantry

Southwestern Community College recently issued the following announcement.

Four members of Southwestern Community College's Phi Theta Kappa chapter, Beta Eta Nu, volunteered at the Creston Area Food Pantry, located at 417 Wyoming Avenue in Creston, on Sunday, Nov. 21, 2021.

Southwestern students Kayla Bentley of Diagonal; Flo Omodayo of Dekalb, IL; Brittany Vandevender of Prescott; and Lilita Woody of Creston, as well as Jody Nedley-Newcomb, former Beta Eta Nu chapter advisor, joined members of the Salem Lutheran Church to provide service to the pantry and those who utilize the pantry.

The Creston Area Food Pantry welcomes all who need food assistance. The pantry is open every Sunday from 12-2 p.m. or for trolley riders (only) on Fridays from 12-2 p.m. Questions may be directed to the Creston Area Food Pantry at 641.344.0451. Southwestern students may visit the Southern Iowa Trolley website to learn more about riding the trolley.
