Don Kriger Ends Over a Decade of Services as Planning Commission Chair

Ottumwa

City of Ottumwa recently issued the following announcement.

On Monday night, Don Krieger stepped down as Chair of the City of Ottumwa Plan and Zoning Commission after over a decade of service. The Plan and Zoning Commission is one of the most influential citizen commissions in city government, making recommendations on land use planning, rezonings and ordinance changes and providing site plan review for major developments. Krieger was appointed to the Commission in 1995 and has served as chair since April 2011. During his tenure, the Commission has played a critical role in adopting the 2015 zoning ordinance, approving the Our Ottumwa 2040 Comprehensive Plan and guiding large development projects.

“Don has been an outstanding chair,” said Mayor Tom Lazio. “He has always lead with great integrity, character and vision.” Krieger will continue to serve as a member of the Commission. He is succeeded as chair by another veteran Commission member, Chuck Manson. Ashley Noreuil will service as Vice Chair.
