The 2021 fall enrollment for Iowa school districts, which includes all 327 school districts in the state, has mostly increased across the board. There was an almost 1,472 student increase from fall 2020 to fall 2021.
"Certified enrollment is used to determine funding for schools and differs slightly from the actual headcount of students enrolled," according to a release from the Iowa Department of Education.
Almost 52% of all school districts in Iowa saw an increase in enrollment when certified enrollments went from 484,159 in fall 2020 to 485,630 in fall 2021. The state of Iowa saw a full 0.30% increase in enrollment in fall. The largest growing district in state was Waukee, followed by Ankeny and Pleasent Valley.
Home-schooling enrollment fell by 1,028 students overall, despite the ongoing pandemic.
