CTE Day at the Iowa State Capitol

Southwestern Community College recently issued the following announcement.

Feb. 8, 2022, was Career and Technical Education (CTE) Day at the Iowa State Capitol in Des Moines. 

Gov. Kim Reynolds, joined by Lt. Gov. Adam Gregg, signed a proclamation in the Capitol Rotunda declaring February as Career and Technical Education month.

Ann Schlapia, with the Iowa Intermediary Network, had the opportunity to share with the governor, lieutenant governor, and legislators, the importance of CTE programming and work-based learning. Involvement in CTE programs and CTSO (Career & Technical Student Organizations) helps students explore careers and gain job skills and confidence through work-based learning experiences.
