Southwestern Community College (SWCC) and the University of Iowa (UI) will be finalizing a new partnership agreement allowing SWCC nursing graduates to seamlessly transfer to the UI College of Nursing to complete their Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) degrees, during a formal signing ceremony on Thursday, April 21, 2022, 2 p.m., at the Allied Health and Science Center, on SWCC’s Creston campus.

With this new agreement in place, students may attend SWCC to complete the licensed practical nursing and registered nursing programs and then transfer to the University of Iowa College of Nursing online RN-BSN program for one additional year of college to earn their BSN. The agreement is called RN to BSN 3+1.

A great benefit to this online option is that SWCC’s nursing graduates will be able to stay in their communities and work as registered nurses while completing their bachelor’s degrees.

This event is open to the public. Representatives from the University of Iowa College of Nursing and SWCC, as well as community partners, alumni, and healthcare partners will be on-hand. Refreshments will be served.
