Step back in time to Victorian London with Charles Dickens’ Christmas Classic, A Christmas Carol. This one-hour, one-man version of Dickens’ ghostly tale features over 20 characters including the miserly Mr. Scrooge, Marly’s mournful Ghost, wonderful Fezziwig, the warm-hearted Mrs. Cratchit, and of course, the loveable Tiny Tim, all portrayed by one actor.

Adapted and performed by Iowa Native, Harold Hynick, this delightful production promises to brighten your Christmas present with a performance that will evoke fond memories of Christmas past and send you home looking forward to Christmas future. It’s the perfect holiday treat for family and friends.

Bio:

Harold is Chair of the Division of Fine Arts and Professor of Theatre at Missouri Valley College where he was honored with the 2016 John McCallum Excellence in Teaching Award. Harold enjoys teaching acting, directing, improv, history, and playwriting. He is active in the Kennedy Center American College Theatre Festival, where he served as the Missouri State Chair for Region VI from 2009-2013. Hynick’s professional credits include involvement in over 100 productions including work with the Arrow Rock Lyceum Theatre in Missouri, Stages Repertory Theatre and The Ensemble in Houston, The Strand Street Theatre in Galveston, The Penobscot Theatre Company and Main State Music Theatre in Main and The South Dakota Shakespeare Festival and The Black Hills Playhouse in South Dakota. Most recently he performed his latest one man show, Exit Pursued By The Bard, at the Kansas City Fringe Festival. He holds a BA in Theatre from Central College, in Pella, IA, and an MFA in Directing from The University of South Dakota.

He was born in Oskaloosa, IA where he spent his first 6 years before moving to Eddyville where is eventually graduated from high school.
