This week, Doug North, head golf coach for the Spartans, announced the signing of multi-sport standout Chase Copeland. Copeland will be a May 2023 graduate of Woodbury Central High School in Moville, Iowa.

Most recently, Copeland was named First Team All-District and First Team All-State for his role on the Woodbury Central football team. He will head into his Senior year of high school already receiving academic and athletic recognition for his feats on the golf course. Academic All-Conference, Distinguished Academic Achievement, Second Team All-Conference, and First Team All-Conference are some of the honors he has earned on the course and in the classroom.

"Chase is the kid that fits the bill of what we try to do around here," says North. "High academics and trending in the right direction. His senior year will be his best yet, and he is already off to a great start with his football accolades. I am excited to welcome Chase and his family to Spartan Nation."
