DES MOINES — U.S. Representative Zach Nunn (IA-03) has revealed plans for the 2024 Congressional Art Competition, inviting high school students from the Iowa Third Congressional District to participate.
"I can’t wait to showcase the talent of Iowa’s high school students," expressed Rep. Nunn enthusiastically. "This is a long-standing tradition that I am proud and honored to take part in. Iowa has so much to offer, and I look forward to seeing all the creativity that Iowa students have to share as they showcase our state, culture, and talent."
The competition will see artwork submissions from high school students in the district, with a panel of judges set to review and select a winner. The winning piece will be displayed at the U.S. Capitol for a year, with the winning artist also being flown to Washington, D.C. for the official art show opening. Additionally, three art pieces will receive the People’s Choice Award and be showcased in Rep. Nunn’s offices.
Key dates for the competition include April 26 as the final day for student submissions, April 29 to May 3 for the Public Popular Vote Period, May 3 for the Judge’s Panel Private Showing, and May 8 for the public announcement of the winner.
