U.S. Representative Zach Nunn from Iowa's 3rd district has expressed his position following the vote to expel Representative George Santos from the House of Representatives. In a statement, Nunn emphasized the importance of ethical standards for those in elected office, criticizing Santos by saying, "George Santos probably couldn’t even find the word ethics in a dictionary." He further stated that Santos should face legal consequences and is unfit to serve based on the findings of the House Ethics Committee.

Nunn highlighted public dissatisfaction with political misconduct, asserting that "the American people are sick and tired of Washington, D.C. backroom deals that protect crooks and liars." He called for further action by urging the Senate to expel Robert Menendez due to alleged ethical violations.

Rep. Nunn had previously voted on May 17, 2023, to refer Rep. Santos to the Ethics Committee for accountability regarding allegations of dishonesty. The committee released its report on November 14, 2023, prompting Nunn's decision to support Santos' expulsion based on its conclusions.
