The U.S. House of Representatives has passed the Fiscal Year 2025 National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA), incorporating priorities set by Representative Zach Nunn from Iowa's 3rd Congressional District. The legislation aims to support military servicemembers and enhance national security measures.
Representative Nunn, who is also a twenty-year combat veteran and Colonel in the Air Force, emphasized the importance of national security initiatives. He stated, "America is the land of the free and home of the brave because of the men and women who serve in uniform." He added that his commitment includes "securing our Southern Border, stopping China in its tracks, bolstering our allies, and supporting our men and women in uniform throughout their career."
The NDAA package includes a proposal from Rep. Nunn to establish a strategic partnership between the Defense Innovation Unit and the Israeli Ministry of Defense. This initiative aims to facilitate access to emerging technologies for both the United States and its allies. Additionally, the legislation provides significant investments in improving servicemember quality of life, enhancing border security, and deterring Chinese aggression.
The bill will now proceed to the Senate for consideration.
