U.S. Representative Zach Nunn has been appointed to the House Select Committee on Strategic Competition between the United States and the Chinese Communist Party (CCP). This committee aims to assess economic and national security threats posed by China and develop strategies to ensure a robust American future.

Nunn, who has experience as a counterintelligence officer dealing with China, expressed his commitment to addressing these challenges. "As a former counterintelligence officer who operated against China, I’ve seen firsthand how the Chinese Communist Party is working to undercut the United States at every turn," he stated. "Since my first day in Congress, I’ve worked to hold China accountable, and that is exactly what the work on this Committee will do."

The committee comprises several members including Rep. John Moolenaar as Chairman, along with Reps. Rob Wittman, Andy Barr, Dan Newhouse, Darin LaHood, Neal Dunn, Dusty Johnson, Ashley Hinson, Carlos Giménez, Gus Bilirakis, Young Kim, Nathaniel Moran, and Zach Nunn himself.

Nunn brings significant military experience to his role on the committee. He serves as a Colonel in the U.S. Air Force Reserve and has nearly two decades of service in combat zones and intelligence operations focused on China. In Congress, he has previously worked on efforts against Chinese influence in various sectors such as technology and national security.
