U.S. Representative Zach Nunn, representing Iowa's 3rd District, has successfully advanced four national security bills through the House Financial Services Committee. These legislative measures aim to address various threats to national security, including issues related to fentanyl money laundering and counterterrorism investigations.
The bills also focus on preventing the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) from acquiring American farmland and holding China accountable for its involvement in the global drug trade. "The Chinese Communist Party has made it clear that they will utilize every possible tool to endanger our economy, intellectual property, and national security," stated Rep. Nunn. "From trafficking fentanyl and money laundering to buying up American farmland, we must stand up and stop them today."
Rep. Nunn played a key role in co-leading these bipartisan initiatives during the March 5, 2025 markup session by the committee. The unanimous approval of all four bills marks a significant step forward as they now await further consideration by the full House of Representatives.
