Representative Zach Nunn from Iowa has been reappointed to the bipartisan Congressional-Executive Commission on China for the 119th Congress. The announcement was made by Speaker Mike Johnson, who emphasized Rep. Nunn's role in addressing human rights abuses and the influence of the Chinese Communist Party.

Rep. Nunn expressed his commitment to the role, stating, “The Chinese Communist Party is one of the greatest threats to freedom and human dignity in the world today – it silences dissent, crushes faith, and spreads propaganda beyond its borders.” He added, “I’m honored to be reappointed to the Commission and leading the charge to expose the CCP’s systemic repression, counter its global influence campaigns, and ensure the United States remains a global leader in confronting tyranny. I remain committed to holding China accountable and developing a comprehensive strategy to combat the threat from China head-on.”

With a background in the U.S. Air Force Reserve, where he served as a Colonel with extensive experience in military and intelligence operations, Rep. Nunn has participated in combat zones and missions countering Chinese activity. His reappointment is seen as a testament to his leadership in confronting threats from the Chinese Communist Party and upholding human rights both domestically and globally.

More information about the Commission’s work can be found on its website at cecc.gov.
