Congressman Zach Nunn (IA-03) has introduced a new testimonial advertising campaign that features Iowans discussing the impact of the One Big Beautiful Bill Act. The series aims to show how the legislation is providing benefits for families, workers, small businesses, and farmers across Iowa.
The first advertisement in the series focuses on Sarah Curry from Glenwood, Iowa. She describes how her family has experienced direct tax relief due to the bill. Curry previously testified before the House Ways & Means Committee in 2024 about these issues.
“The last time Congress enacted tax cuts, it made a really big difference for our family. Our kids have needs that we have to meet, and every dollar we can save on our taxes means another dollar we can invest in our family to help our children,” said Sarah Curry. “I want to thank Congressman Nunn for always prioritizing families and for helping pass the child tax credit. This type of common sense reform helps all types of families, mine and others across America.”
Another ad features Erika, a waitress at Whisky River Bar & Grill in Ankeny. She explains how changes included in the bill will allow service workers like herself to keep more of their earnings by ending federal taxes on tipped income.
“Waiting tables isn’t easy. We work hard and most of what we take home comes from tips. The One Big Beautiful Bill finally gives workers like me some real relief. For the first time, I’m not getting taxed on tips I earn,” said Erika. “That’s huge. I want to thank Congressman Nunn for making sure that service workers like me were included in this bill. At the end of a long shift, it means a lot to know that Washington finally understands how hard we work. This is pro-worker, plain and simple—and it’s about time.”
Congressman Nunn commented on the purpose behind these testimonials: “Whether it’s families like the Currys investing in their kids’ futures or service workers like Erika keeping more of their hard-earned tips, the Big Beautiful Bill is delivering real relief,” said Rep. Nunn. “These ideas came from Iowa families and workers who spoke up about what they needed most. We took those ideas to Washington and turned them into real wins for everyday Iowans.”
The digital campaign also includes stories from other community members such as parents, barbers, law enforcement officers, farmers, and small business owners who say they have benefited from provisions within the act.
