The U.S. House of Representatives has approved the Streamlining Procurement for Effective Execution and Delivery and National Defense Authorization Act for Fiscal Year 2026 (NDAA). The legislation includes nine provisions led by Representative Zach Nunn of Iowa’s 3rd District, marking the highest number of amendments passed by a single member in this session.

According to Rep. Nunn, “America remains the land of the free because of the brave men and women who serve in uniform. As a twenty-year combat veteran and current Colonel in the Air Force, I will never waver in defending our national security. That means securing our Southern Border, countering the Chinese Communist Party, strengthening Iowa’s defense industry, and ensuring every servicemember and veteran receives the care and support they have earned.”

The nine amendments introduced by Rep. Nunn were all unanimously passed by the House. These measures are designed to enhance national defense through several initiatives: supporting U.S. servicemembers, reinforcing both Iowa’s and America’s defense industrial base, expressing support for Israel, and addressing challenges posed by authoritarian regimes.

The bill will next be considered by the Senate.
