City of Afton issued the following announcement on Oct. 12.
If you own a commercial property in Afton that is vacant (or the bulk of building is vacant) or has chronic vacancy and you need funds for building renovations, there is a grant through the Iowa Economic Development Authority (IEDA) that might help. We are accepting proposals from qualifying commercial property owners in Afton by Friday, November 8, 2019. The City Council will review all proposals to determine the property that would be the most catalytic and most likely to be funded and work with that property owner to submit a grant application to IEDA. Please review the attached letter and grant proposal (forms can also be downloaded from City of Afton website www.aftoniowa.com)
