CITY OF OSCEOLA: Clarke County Hospital Awarded Funding from the FCC COVID-19 Telehealth Program

City of Osceola issued the following announcement on June 15. 

In early April, Clarke County Hospital applied for telehealth equipment funding from the FCC, and last week CCH was notified it had been awarded $170,072 from the FCC COVID-19 Telehealth Program.

“Clarke County Hospital, in Osceola, Iowa, was awarded $170,072 for tablet computers, network upgrades, and remote monitoring equipment to offer telehealth from home for potential COVID-19 patients and to provide telehealth video units in patient and exam rooms to minimize provider-patient contact and preserve personal protective equipment.”

The FCC COVID-19 Telehealth Program is providing $200 million in funding, appropriated by Congress as part of the Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security (CARES) Act, to help health care providers provide connected care services to patients at their homes or mobile locations in response to the COVID-19 pandemic. To date, the FCC’s COVID-19 Telehealth Program, has approved funding for 238 health care providers in 41 states plus Washington, D.C., for a total of $84.96 million in funding
