CITY OF OTTUMWA: City of Ottumwa to Hold Public Open House on Comprehensive Plan Update

Opn

City of Ottumwa issued the following announcement on June 12.

The City of Ottumwa is excited to present the draft update to the City’s Comprehensive Plan entitled Our Ottumwa. The City has been working towards this draft release for many months and is excited to share its ideas for progress, growth, and development through the year 2040 and beyond. The public open house is an opportunity for residents to come and learn more about the draft and ask questions directly to City staff and the consultant team hired by the City to assist in the plan’s formation.

Residents are encouraged to attend the public open house to provide their feedback on the draft plan’s recommendations and ideas for the future of Ottumwa.  The plan is centered on the core principles of housing, community character, growth, and a celebration of the community’s diversity. The public open house will include a series of stations the public can walk through and discuss topics with staff. Stop by anytime between 4:00 p.m. and 8:00 p.m. to learn more and provide your input!

A copy of the full draft plan is available to view and comment on the project’s website: www.ourottumwa.com. If you would like to view the document or add your input, but cannot make the open house. We are looking for your help to complete this document.

The open house will be from 4:00 to 8:00 PM on Thursday, June 25, 2020 at the Bridge View Center.
