CITY OF OTTUMWA: Child Abuse Investigation

Abuse prohibited

City of Ottumwa issued the following announcement on June 25. 

On Saturday, June 20, 202 at approximately 11:07 a.m., officers from the Ottumwa Police Department, with a representative from the Iowa Department of Human Services, responded to a report of a suspected child abuse at 2421 E. Main Street, Ottumwa. 

A female child, age 2, was found at that address to have many bruises all over her head and body.  The child was transported to a local hospital for a medical examination at the request of police and IDHS personnel. 

Arrangements were made for all of the children who were living at the residence to stay in the custody of relatives while the investigation was being conducted.

On Wednesday, June 24, 2020, at approximately   3:30 p.m., Ottumwa Police arrested the 2 year old child’s mother and her boyfriend regarding this investigation.   The suspects are identified as:

Ashley Karen Lindley-Moser, age 28, and Donald Vincent Graham, age 24, both of 2421 E. Main, Ottumwa. Lindley and Graham have been arrested and charged with Child Endangerment Causing Bodily Injury, a Class “D” Felony.
