City of Ottumwa issued the following announcement on August 12.
Progress continues in the 100, 200 & 300 block of East Main Street to remedy the sunken brick pavers. At the current pace, the tentative schedule is as followed:
Monday, August 16th- Portzen Construction will remove the mid-block crosswalk in the 300 block of E Main. During this time, the street will be closed adjacent to the crosswalk, however vehicular access will remain open from both Green Street & Jefferson Street.
Tuesday, August 17th- The intersection of Market Street & Main Street is scheduled to be opened to traffic.
Wednesday, August 18th- Portzen Construction will remove the mid-block crosswalk in the 100 block of E Main. During this time, the street will be closed adjacent the mid-block crosswalk, however access will remain open from both Market Street & Court Street.
Monday, August 23rd- Removal of the intersection of Green Street & Main Street will begin.
Tuesday, August 24th- The mid-block crosswalks in the 100 & 300 block of E Main are scheduled to be opened to traffic.
This is a tentative schedule based on the current pace of work. Unforeseen delays or weather may be cause for this schedule to change. The City appreciates the patience and cooperation of the Downtown Business owners and motorists.
