City Seeking Survey Responses Re: Sanitary Sewer Evaluation

Webp genbusiness001

City of Bloomfield recently issued the following announcement.

The City of Bloomfield invites citizens to read the following letter from Mayor Dan Wiegand and also to respond to an accompanying survey.

Dear residents,

Bloomfield is embarking on a detailed sanitary sewer evaluation with the Civil Engineering firm, HR Green, Inc. The evaluation will identify potential sewer improvement projects and reduce future wastewater-related operation and maintenance costs. Once completed, these projects should help the City to comply with the Environmental Protection Agency’s (EPA) Consent Order. More information regarding the Consent Order is included in the enclosed educational flier.

A citizen questionnaire is also attached to ask residents about sewer issues near or around their home. This information is vital in identifying areas of concern throughout town – now is your chance to have a voice in the planning process! We are asking for your support by taking 2-3 minutes to complete the questionnaire. If you are unsure on how to answer any of the questions, please contact Jeremy Walker, Wastewater Superintendent, at 641-664-9658 or jeremy.walker@cityofbloomfield.org. This information is strictly for planning purposes, and no one will be penalized for their answers in the questionnaire.

If you are interested in learning more about the sanitary sewer evaluation, a public meeting will be held in the Community Room at the Bloomfield Public Library on Thursday, November 18th at 5:30 PM.

Sincerely,

Dan Wiegand

Mayor of Bloomfield
