Rep. Cindy Axne was the only member of the state's delegation to the U.S. House of Representatives that voted for the implementation of the plan.

Axne believes that the plan is the most monumental investment to infrastructure ever in the U.S., the Des Moines Register reported.
The bill is expected to increase federal funding by 30%, KCCI reported.
The Iowa public roadway system encompasses around 115,000 miles of road and has around 24,000 bridges. Iowa stands to receive $3.4 billion for highway repairs, $432 million to replace and repair bridges, $638 million for water infrastructure improvements, $305 million for public transportation, $120 million for airport infrastructure and at least $100 million for expanded broadband internet coverage, according to the numbers released by Axne's office the Des Moines Register reported.
