City of Ottumwa issued the following announcement on November 9.
Ottumwa City Council Member Bob Meyers has announced his resignation from the Ottumwa City Council effective December 31, 2021. Bob Meyers shared,
“Staff and City employees have helped provide me with a better understanding of city government and how it works. I was also very appreciative of the many individuals who volunteer to help make the city work.”
At next Tuesday’s City Council meeting the City Council will vote on how to fill the vacancy left by the resignation, whether by holding a special city election or by appointment. Bob Meyers’ council term was set to expire January of 2024.
