Fall 2023 scholarship deadline is quickly approaching

Fall 2023 scholarship deadline is quickly approaching

Southwestern Community College (SWCC) has a variety of scholarship opportunities available to new and returning students for the 2023-24 academic year. The deadline for the majority of these scholarships (first bullet point below) is March 15, 2023.

The online scholarship applications are now open at www.swcciowa.edu/scholarships for students to complete and submit. Scholarship opportunities at SWCC include the following:

  • Education Foundation Scholarships – New and returning SWCC students may complete one scholarship application to be considered for hundreds of scholarships through the Education Foundation. Scholarships are based on a variety of criteria so all students are encouraged to apply. Deadline: March 15.
  • Trustee Award Scholarship – Students must be the valedictorian or salutatorian of their high school class and enroll at SWCC the semester following high school graduation. Deadline: August 25.
  • Collegiate Scholarship - For high school seniors in the top 15 percent of their class or achieve a 25 or above on the ACT Test. Deadline: August 25.
  • Iowa Last-Dollar Scholarship – This scholarship covers gaps in aid for students in select career and technical education programs. Deadline: Must complete and submit Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) by July 1.
  • Bright Scholars of Iowa Scholarship - The Bright Scholars of Iowa award is available to Iowa high school seniors who are strong academically but may lack the financial means to enable them to earn a college degree. Deadline: August 2023.
Scholarships awarded must be utilized at Southwestern Community College during the 2023-24 academic year. For complete scholarship eligibility requirements and application forms, please visit SWCC’s website at www.swcciowa.edu/scholarships.
