Iowa midterms sees Mahaska County Republican Central Committee in Mahaska County spend the most during Q2

Mahaska County Republican Central Committee spent the most out of in Mahaska County political committees during the second quarter of 2024, according to the Iowa.gov.

It spent $1,040 on one vendor during the time period.

It spent $1,040 at Republican Party of Iowa, which is based in ZIP Code 50309.

The second largest political spend from a committee operating in a city within Mahaska County during the second quarter of 2024 came from Hayes for House. It spent $991 during the time period on five different vendors.

What's known as "dark money," which comes from political non-profits and shell corporations, has greatly increased expenditures and donations in recent elections to record-breaking highs.
