DES MOINES — U.S. Representative Zach Nunn (IA-03) has successfully secured $2.5 million for water infrastructure improvements in Bondurant. This federal investment will be allocated towards the construction of a new water tower.
“A reliable, low-maintenance, and cost-effective water system that meets the needs of residents is a fundamental necessity and I’m thankful we could deliver this win for Bondurant,” expressed Rep. Nunn.
The funding, obtained through the community project funding process, was included in the Consolidated Appropriations Act of 2024. Mayor Doug Elrod of Bondurant expressed gratitude, stating, “The City of Bondurant extends its deepest gratitude to Congressman Zach Nunn and his staff for their outstanding efforts to secure this critical funding for city water projects.”
The $2.5 million investment will facilitate the construction of a new one-million-gallon capacity water tower situated strategically along NE 88th Street, just north of Interstate 80. This project aims to provide sufficient water storage capacity to meet both short- and long-term needs of the City of Bondurant.
The announcement of this significant funding was made during a press conference at the site of the new Water Tower in Bondurant, with both Rep. Nunn and Mayor Doug Elrod present.
The community looks forward to the positive impact this infrastructure enhancement will have on ensuring a sustainable and vibrant future for Bondurant.
