WASHINGTON, D.C. — U.S. Representative Zach Nunn (IA-03) has introduced bipartisan legislation aimed at implementing year-round E15 sales in the Midwest. The Year-Round E15 Act, co-led by several U.S. Representatives, seeks to provide certainty for farmers, producers, and families who stand to benefit from this initiative.

Rep. Nunn expressed his dedication to the cause, stating, “Since day one, I’ve been fighting for year-round E15. Unfortunately, this Administration has repeatedly put America’s producers and families behind as they stubbornly opposed E15, which is good for the economy, good for the climate, and good for families.”

Support for the bill comes from various quarters, with Rep. Budzinski emphasizing the benefits of biofuels, saying, "Biofuels bring down fuel costs, reduce our dependence on foreign oil, cut carbon emissions and support critical markets for Illinois' family farmers."

Rep. Smith, as co-chair of the Biofuels Caucus, highlighted the advantages of E15 availability, stating, “Our producers, retailers, and consumers all stand to benefit greatly from the flexibility and cost-savings offered by E15.”

The legislation aims to address the delay in year-round E15 sales, with Rep. Finstad noting the importance of providing relief at the pump for consumers, and Rep. Bacon emphasizing the benefits for Nebraska's ethanol industry.

Rep. Sorensen underscored the economic impact of the bill, saying, “Through expanding the sale of E15, we can lower prices at the pump, give our corn farmers the support they need, and make sure our economy is sustainable for generations to come.”

Industry leaders also voiced their support, with Geoff Cooper, President of the Renewable Fuels Association, appreciating Rep. Nunn's efforts to ensure continued access to E15. Monte Shaw, Executive Director of the Iowa Renewable Fuels Association, stressed the urgency of the matter, emphasizing the need for immediate action.

Emily Skor, CEO of Growth Energy, echoed the sentiment, stating, “Consumers need access to E15 now, not in 2025.” The bipartisan Year-Round E15 Act seeks to extend the sale of E15 in several Midwestern states, providing a pathway for more affordable, cleaner-burning fuel options for consumers.
