A System Like no Other: The Orphan Train
Date and Time: Tuesday September 28th at 10 a.m.

Starting in 1854 and lasting until 1929 a system which became known as the Orphan Trains came into being. It is estimated that over 300,000 children ranging from babies to teenagers were transported by railroads to every state and territory in the Union. A story that has resulted in 4 million descendants, many who are not aware of their heritage.
Dennis Wilson is a retired Canadian Pacific Railroad conductor residing in Mason City, Iowa. He has been speaking and researching the Orphan train movement for the past ten years.
