Iowa Gov. Kim Reynolds signed a Harvest Proclamation extension, forgoing weight limits on crops.

The proclamation “allows vehicles transporting corn, soybeans, hay, straw, silage and stover to be overweight (not exceeding 90,000 pounds gross weight) without a permit for the duration of this proclamation.”

The proclamation relates to both grain transportation and weight limits. The proclamation went into effect on Dec. 30, and it will remain until Jan. 29.

The proclamation applies to every load that is transported through highways within Iowa, excluding the interstate system. The proclamation also applies to loads that do not exceed more than 90,000 pounds in gross weight.
