Decatur County Hospital Adds Two Additional Specialty Clinics

In the DCH Outpatient Clinic, we’re proud to offer sixteen (16) outpatient specialty clinics, many of which are not available elsewhere in our region. In our continued effort to provide access to the specialists you need, we’re excited to announce the addition of another provider to our clinic who will provide two (2) new services.

Dr. Rupinder Gill is a physician who holds three (3) distinct board certifications in nephrology, palliative care, and internal medicine. She will join the DCH Outpatient Clinic starting January 30th, 2023, to provide both nephrology and palliative care services to our region.

Nephrology is a specialty that focuses on diagnosis and treatment of disorders of the kidneys. These disorders may include chronic kidney disease, kidney failure, kidney stones, infections, cancer, polycystic kidney disease, renal artery stenosis, and more. The decreased function of the kidneys can cause other health issues throughout the body, and kidneys can be affected by other chronic conditions such as hypertension (high blood pressure), diabetes, heart disease, and autoimmune disorders. Certain medications and a family history of kidney disease are also factors in your kidney health.

Palliative care is a specialty that focuses quality of life for individuals living with a chronic disease. In this clinic, Dr. Gill can help patients develop goals and a plan for long-term care, create plans to deal with pain due to a chronic illness, and other services that may arise due to living with a chronic disease. When you’re living with a chronic illness, having a physician by your side to help you manage your journey can make a world of difference.

With access to all of our services under one roof, Dr. Gill will be able to help coordinate specialist appointments with our clinic providers, and other services you need to help you manage your chronic health journey. With her in your corner, you can rest assured that many of your needs can be met right here, saving you the stress of traveling far from home to find specialists or treatment.

The addition of these two services will bring the total number of specialty clinics in the DCH Outpatient Clinic to eighteen (18), including

  • Cardiology
  • Chronic Pain Management
  • Dermatology
  • Ears, Nose & Throat
  • Endocrinology
  • General/Vascular Surgery
  • Gynecology and Uro-Gynecology
  • Interventional Pain Services

  • Nephrology
  • Neurology
  • Oncology/Hematology
  • Orthopedic Surgery
  • Palliative Care
  • Podiatry
  • Pulmonology
  • Rheumatology
  • Urology
Dr. Gill will visit the DCH Outpatient Clinic four (4) consecutive days each month, starting January 30th, 2023. We are now accepting new patients for both nephrology and palliative care services. If you feel you could benefit from a consultation with Dr. Gill, please call 641-446-2285. Depending on your insurance, you likely do not need a referral to see her or any of our other specialists.
